Congratulations to all of you! I am really looking forward to a wonderful year. I hope that each of you have a great year as well. This is our special year to spend together, so lets make a difference! Lets stand out!

This year our symbol is the sunrise. Our motto is, "Make a Difference." As each day comes along we have yet another chance to be that inspiration to everyone. Each day as the sun rises it gives us yet another chance to make that difference, to be an inspiration. Take the lead; stand up for what we know is right.

The colors for this year are purple and orange. Purple represents the service in our organization, one of the reasons we are around. Remember, "It is better to give than to receive." The orange, Yes, Orange! represents Religion in our bow, something we should all practice daily.

The flower is the sunflower. Not only does it give us a warm feeling and a smile, but also it teaches us a lesson. In the center of the flower are seeds, just like all of you. After so long, the seeds fall out of the flower and land on the ground. Then along comes a rain shower and before you know it you have more sunflowers. This is what we need to do with our membership. Take those seeds and plant them! Let us drop our seeds and bring in those petitions.

The charity for this year is the Shriners Hospital for Children. Shriners is a hospital that is for children who need special medical attention and can't find it, or for some reason is unavailable to them. I know that for the last several years the Grand Charity has been a children's' charity, but this one is special to me. I have a personal experience with the hospital. Stay listening at the Official Visits to hear about it.
